Dear Anon,
It is not necessarily bad to have the bed located at NE compass direction of the home.
The following factors could be considered:
1. Under the Eight House Theory, if this is an auspicious sector for you.
2. A more advanced method is to check the sector of influence at the NE using Flying Star Feng Shui. Especially to confirm how Yin is the NE sector? If the sector is TOO YIN, then, it is best to neutralise this or increase it with more Yang. But, again this has to be analysed before, one can tell for sure.
Based on `feel', if you can sleep properly and there are no other issues affecting the person, then it is still acceptable.
